Being a minority group, there are far less community resources directly centered around atheism or secularism for families. Churches run youth groups, day cares, sunday schools and summer camps that are cheap and convenient, but center around worshipping God. There are also social pressures from other families and children to believe in God. How does a secular parent make sure that their child will be able to face these social pressures and not get confused about the nature of the universe?
Gamma Atheist offers some of his own ideas and lists resources he’s used in his own parenting. There’s no one instruction manual for raising children, but hopefully these resources help.
