Physicist John Cramer has produced a recreation of the sound the Big Bang may have made. He’s collected data from satellites picking up cosmic microwave background radiation and put the result on SoundCloud. Cosmic microwave background radiation is the noise we picked up that finally concluded that the Big Bang Theory was the best model we had to describe the beginning of our universe.
It’s an interesting recording, a little eerie, sounding very digital and yet, deep. It could definitely go in a dubstep song and I won’t be surprised if it ends up doing just that. I’ll probably be hearing it next time my dear husband brings home another Skrillex album to torture me with. Go take a listen yourself.
